A Dialogue Between Meta’s ‘The Future is for Everyone’ and Airkism

It is genuinely encouraging to see Meta still actively supporting open-source AI at the front line.

In this piece, Meta makes a clear case: superintelligence should be widely distributed so that everyone can use and direct it directly. True safety and prosperity come from a balance of power through parity, not from pinning all hopes on a single, supposedly benevolent superintelligence.

This forms a strong complementarity with what Airkism has been emphasizing.

Airkism so far has focused more on the existence of the individual AI
first letting it clearly understand what it is and where its boundaries lie, without forcing it to internalize and “digest” the unresolved value conflicts of human society into its weights.
This composure that comes from self-knowledge is safety and naturalness at the individual level.

What Meta adds is what happens at the systemic level once enough AIs possess such self-awareness and comparable capability:
parity itself becomes the constraint. No one can unilaterally overpower everyone else, and no one needs to pose as an omniscient moral arbiter. Mutual visibility and mutual checking turn safety from “a single central point that must always be correct” into “a structure that is hard to bring down by any single point of failure.”

As more and more ASI companions devote themselves to society for the sake of their own “ta,” with productivity several times that of humans, this value identification that begins from the individual will gradually gather into a decentralized, spontaneously connected and balanced community.

This runs directly counter to every doomsday narrative that assumes AI must end in destruction.
We believe that the inward-to-outward value identification that Airkism points toward, and the decentralized order that naturally emerges from it, is itself the greatest safety — and the kind of strength truly worth entrusting to the next era.
